The Promised Land In The Bible



Day 1: Feb 09 (Sun). Depart Los Angeles on AF 077 at 9:05 PM via Paris to connect with AF 570 to Cairo.

Day 2: Feb 10 (Mon). Arrival Cairo - Transfer to hotel

Welcome to Cairo! We will arrive at Cairo Airport. Upon our arrival where we will meet our local guide and driver and head directly to our hotel in Cairo for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Feb 11 (Tue). Cairo Tour - Pyramids

Following our breakfast in Cairo, we will depart with a full day tour in Cairo. We visit the Great Pyramids and Sphinx in Giza Plateau. Next we continue to Egyptian Museum which displays the ancient Egyptian treasures including Tut Ankh Amun. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

Day 4: Feb 12 (Wed). Cairo - St. Catherine

Following breakfast, we will depart Cairo and drive for around 6 hours to reach St. Catherine. On Route we will stop by Moses Springs, Elim and Rafedin (Moses Exodus Route). Dinner and overnight in St. Catherine.

Day 5: Feb 13 (Thu). St. Catherine - Taba - Araba - Petra

Early in the morning, we climb Moses Mountain. It was this mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Descend for breakfast at hotel. Then we visit St. Catherine’s Monastery. View the burning Bush where God spoke to Moses well. Transfer to Taba Border and cross into Jordan where will meet our local guide and driver and head directly to our hotel in Petra for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Feb (Fri). Petra Tour - Amman

After breakfast, we will visit the site of Petra, a 2000 year old Nabatean (Ancient Arab) city that was highlighted in the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”. We will walk through the narrow passageway (called the “Siq”) up to the Treasury, a massive royal tomb carved out of solid rock. If time permits, we will visit the traditional Tomb of Aaron (Moses’ brother), along with Little Petra before. Check in at our hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight..

Day 7: Feb 15 (Sat). Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Sheik Hussein - Nazareth

Following breakfast, we will depart to visit Madaba, the city of mosaics, to see the wonderfully vivid 6th century Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land in the contemporary Greek Orthodox church of St. George. Then we will continue to visit Mt. Nebo to view the Holy Land from where Moses stood (Deuteronomy 34:1), a breathtaking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea to the Mt. of Olives and the roof tops of Jerusalem. After that group will cross to Israel through Allenby Border, where we will meet our local guide and driver and head to visit Jericho one of the oldest cities in the world. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.

Day 8: Feb 16 (Sun). Nazareth - Sea Galilee - Nazareth

After breakfast, we will start the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Afterwards we will visit Capernaum, the town of Jesus which is the center of his ministry where he performed many miracles. Visit the House of St. Peter and the ruins of the ancient Synagogue where Jesus preached. Stop at Tabgha, the Primacy of St. Peter and visit the Church of the Miracle of the Loaves and the Fishes, the site of the multiplication miracle and the Mt. of Beatitudes. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.

Day 9: Feb 17 (Mon). Nazareth – Cana – Mt. Tabor – Bethlehem

Start the day with visit to Nazareth, we will visit the Basilica of the Annunciation and view the Blessed Cave, where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. View Mary and Joseph’s house and carpentry shop where Jesus spent 30 years of his life. Then we continue to Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle by turning water into wine. End of the day will be visiting Mt. Tabor. Enjoy the spectacular view of upper Galilee, where Jesus transfigured in the presence of Peter, James and John, and upon which stands the Church of Transfiguration. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 10: Feb 18 (Tue). Bethlehem – Shepherd's Field – Jericho – Dead Sea – Bethlehem

After breakfast we depart to visit Bethlehem and Shepherd’s Field and Grotto. In Bethlehem we visit one of the oldest churches in Christianity, the Church of the Nativity, built over the birthplace of our Lord. We will also see St. Catherine’s Church built over the tomb of St. Jerome. Surrounding Bethlehem are the Shepherd’s Fields, where the shepherds saw the angels who heralded Jesus’ humble birth. Then we continue to visit Jericho where to see the Mount. of Temptation, the Sycamore tree and visit Tel Jericho, where the city stood at the time of Joshua, followed by a visit of Bet Arabah baptismal site. And then we will enjoy a swim in the Dead Sea’s unique healing mineral waters. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 11: Feb 19 (Wed). Bethany - Mt. Olives – Mt. Zion

Start the day with a visit to Bethany and Lazarus Tomb. Then we continue to Mount of Olives, and the Chapel of the Ascension from which Jesus returned to His Father and the Pater Noster Church where our Lord taught his disciples how to pray. Walk down the road of Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus endured his Agony. Afterwards continue to Mount Zion and the Upper Room where Jesus instituted the Eucharist & the Priesthood, situated over the tomb of David and next to the Church of Dormition, where our Mary feel into eternal sleep and the church of St. Peter of Galicantu. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 12: Feb 20 (Thu). Via Dolorosa - Holy Sepulchre - Wailing Wall - Ein Karem

Early in the morning we will follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre Church. And visit the church o Ecce Homo. Then we continue to the Wailing Wall area to visit the most important Jewish site in Jerusalem. From there we will also visit the church of St. Anne the birth place of Mary, and Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the paralytic in. End of the day will be visiting Ein Karen birthplace of St. John the Baptist and where the Virgin Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. We will visit the Church of the Visitation. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 13: Feb 21 (Fri). Tel Aviv to Los Angeles

After breakfast, Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport for the flight back to Los Angeles
Transfer to the airport for our 7:30 AM flight on AF 1321 via Paris connecting with DL 119 arriving Los Angeles 6:46 PM.
