DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

 

OCT 20 (SUN) – DAY 1: Departure from LOS ANGELES.

 

OCT 21 (MON) – DAY 2: ARRIVAL ISRAEL. TEL AVIV - NAZARETH
Welcome to Israel! Arrive to Ben Gurion Airport where group will be met by tour guide. Transfer by motor coach to your hotel in Nazareth for dinner and overnight.

 

OCT 22 (TUE) – DAY 3: NAZARETH – SEA OF GALILEE - NAZARETH
After breakfast, we will start the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. After wards, we will visit Capernaum, the town of Jesus which is the center of his ministry where he performed many miracles. Visit the House of St. Peter and the ruins of the ancient Synagogue where Jesus preached. Stop at Tabgha, the Primacy of St. Peter and visit the Church of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes, the site of the multiplication miracle, and the Mt. of Beatitudes. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth. (B, D)

 

OCT 23 (WED) – DAY 4: NAZARETH – CANA – MT. TABOR - BETHLEHEM
Start the day with a visit to Nazareth, we will visit the Basilica of the Annunciation and view the Blessed Cave, where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. View Mary and Joseph’s House and carpentry shop where Jesus spent 30 years of his life. Then we continue to Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle by turning water into wine. End of the day will be visiting Mt. Tabor. Enjoy the spectacular view of upper Galilee, where Jesus transfigured in the presence of Peter, James and John, and upon which stands the Church of Transfiguration. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. OCT 24 (THU) – DAY 5: BETHLEHEM – SHEPHERD’S FIELD – JERICHO – DEAD SEA - BETHLEHEM
After breakfast we depart to visit Bethlehem and Shepherd’s Field and Grotto. In Bethlehem we visit one of the oldest churches in Christianity, the Church of the Nativity, built over the birthplace of our Lord. We will also see St. Catherine’s built over the tomb of St. Jerome. Surrounding Bethlehem are the Shepherd’s Fields, where the shepherds saw the angels who heralded Jesus humble birth. Then we continue to visit Jericho where to see the Mount of Temptation, the Sycamore tree and visit Tel Jericho where the city stood at the time of Joshua, followed by a visit of Bet Arabah baptismal site. And then we will enjoy a swim in the Dead Sea’s unique healing mineral waters. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. (B, D)

 

OCT 25 (FRI) – DAY 6: BETHANY – MT. OLIVES – MT. ZION
Start the day with a visit to Bethany and Lazarus Tomb. Then we continue to Mount of Olives, and the Chapel of the Ascension from which Jesus returned to his Father and the Pater Noster Church where our lord taught his disciples how to pray walk down the Road of Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus endured his agony. Afterwards continue to Mount Zion and the Upper Room where Jesus instituted the Eucharist & the Priesthood, situated over the tomb of David and next to the Church of Dormition, where our Mary fell into eternal sleep and the church of St. Peter of Galicantu. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. (B, D)

 

OCT 26 (SAT) – DAY 7: VIA DOLOROSA – HOLY SEPULCHRE – WAILING WALL – EIN KAREM
Early in the morning we will follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre Church. And visit the church o Ecce Homo. Then we continue to the Wailing Wall area to visit the most important Jewish site in Jerusalem. From there we will also visit the church of St. Anne the birthplace of Mary, and Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the paralytic in. End of the day will be visiting Ein karem birthplace of St. John the Baptist and where the Virigin Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. We will visit the Church of the Visitation. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. (B, D)

 

OCT 27 (SUN) - DAY 8: TEL AVIV – VENICE (MESTRE)
Depart from Tel Aviv to Venice. Upon arrival and after clearing customs you will be greeted by your Homeric Tours representative and transfer by private air-conditioned motor coach to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

 

OCT 28 (MON) - DAY 9: VENICE
The tour starts from the magnificent Piazza San Marco, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the center of Venetian life. On the north side of the square stands the Clock Tower and the Procuratie Vecchie (one the seat of the highest courts of the ancient Republic), on the west there is the Napoleonic wing and on the south, the Procuratie Nuove. The Basilica of san Marco and the Palazzo Ducale – the symbolic monuments of the Republic – stand on the background of the square. The church was built to house the body of St. Marc, transported from Alexandria in 828; in the inside of the church we can admire the beautiful decorations and the magnificent Byzantine mosaics. We will continue by walking to Rialto Bridge, one of the most beautiful bridges and symbols of the town. Schedule: historical-artistic illustration in Piazza San Marco – San Marco Basilica – Ducal Palace – Ponte dei Sospiri – Prisons. Return to our hotel. Rest of the day is a leisure (B).

 

OCT 29 (TUE) – DAY 10: VENICE - ROME
After breakfast we begin our motor coach tour to Rome. Upon arrival into Rome we begin our 3 hour panoramic tour of Rome with visits to the following sights: Adrian Arch, Roman Forum, Palatin Hill, Vesta Temple, to end at the breathtaking Coliseum. After we check into our hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure. (B)

 

OCT 30 (WED) - DAY 11: ROME (Vatican, Papal Audience)
After our daily included breakfast we will transfer at approximate 10:10am to the Vatican to be part of the Papal audience. After wards we will have a 4 hour guide of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Saint Peter Basilica. The complex of the Vatican Museums is unique patrimony of the humanity. The visit includes the Candelabras, Tapestries, Geographical Maps Galleries, the Immaculate Conception Room. We will visit the Sistine Chapel, center of the Conclaves with the divine frescos of the Genesis and the Last Judgment, marvelous work of Michaelangelo Buonarroti. We keep on visiting Saint Peter Basilica (internal tour), where we will admire besides the Pieta of Michaelangelo, the body exposed to the adoration of Pope John XXIII’s believers. We will conclude the visit in the center of the Christianity in Saint Peter Square built by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1661. (B)

OCT 31 (THU) - DAY 12: ROME – LOS ANGELES
After breakfast, we transfer to the Rome airport for our return flight to Los Angeles. (B)
